Order Timeline & Process

1. Order at least 1 month before you need your completed design. We mail a kit to do your impressions. If you are printing more than one person, plan to print them at the same time. Some kits require dividing up clay & it works best to print everyone at once. If any of your imprintees are in a different location & you can't print them at the same time, we need to know this when you place your order. Please inform us directly if you need your kit by a certain date. We only send out kits for pre-paid orders . No refunds for unused kits. Replacement clay costs an additional $20. It is a specialty jeweler's clay. We do not accept other molding clay/products.
2. The kit is easy & has everything you need plus detailed directions. Use & return to us within 1 month of receipt.
3. Once we receive your impressions, we need 2-3 weeks to process them. You will need to sign for delivery of your completed piece. See shipping info below.

Child's Age We recommend that your child be at least 6 months old, but fingerprint ridges may be subtle regardless of age. Sometimes young children will show ridges around a smooth area in the middle of their print.

Pendant & Charm Appearance is slightly rustic, organic & likely with minor imperfections. We don't make jewelry that has a refined, perfected look. Yours will look similar to one you've seen, but not exactly. Print quality varies greatly. We send finished pieces that are within a normal range of quality including subtle or partial prints. If we don't see a print, we'll give you the option to buy more clay before we work on your piece.

Regarding size: online design descriptions indicate the general size of prints & pendants. Please note that it is not unusual for a younger child to have a larger print than an older child. We can not control for this & process your prints without resizing them according to age.

Regarding locket fingerprint charms: We only make the Little Love Charmer for lockets. They are thinner than non-locket charms, do not have a hole or jump ring & are not meant to be worn outside the locket.

No Refunds or exchanges are issued during any phase of this process once you place an order, including if you decide not to complete your kit - NO EXCEPTIONS. Full price applies for re-dos once a design is complete. This process is time consuming & we incur costs throughout every step of the process from the moment you order. Gift Giving Gift cards can be purchased here. This is a better option than sending a kit as a gift due to the shelf life of our clay. Also, for gift giving, be certain that the recipient can wear silver. All customer service policies apply to gift recipients.

Material & Care Fingerprint jewelry is made of sterling silver. Gradual tarnishing can occur. A silver polishing cloth cleans this well. Do not use liquid silver cleaner. If you have reactions to silver, you'll notice quick blackening of the silver & cleaning may not help. We are not responsible if your piece blackens for reasons beyond our control. Common reasons = body chemistry, products on your skin & other environmental factors. Wear & tear all over your metal charm/pendant including the print area is also a possibility, an inherent risk of wearing any jewelry, but particularly if harsh chemicals are used to clean it or other metal is rubbing on your pieces.

 

Locket Collection

General Repairs/replacements after 30 days are subject to a minimum $35 fee. We are not responsible for lost locket contents.
     
Characteristics Lockets slightly magnify/distort the look of contents inside; are made of recycled glass (you may see specks imperfections, blurriness); are double-sided & swivel so you can view from both sides. The space inside is flat, but objects may move around.

Special Care Do not get your locket wet & do remove it before sleep & exercise. It may break if dropped or the glass may fall out if your locket gets knocked around.

Opening Lockets The swivel is the part that hangs on your chain. Twist the nubby part below the swivel. This is a screw & should be tightened periodically as movement can make it loose.

Fingerprint Charms For Lockets We only make the Little Love Charmer for lockets. They are thinner than the ones we normally make, do not come with a hole or jump ring and are not meant to be worn outside the locket.

 

Shipping via U. S. Postal Service unless other shipping services are requested

U.S.:

• Fingerprint kits are mailed within 7 business days ($25), sooner during high seasons. Kit shipping includes shipping of the kit, 1st class postage paid packaging for you to return your impressions to us (U.S. orders) & shipping of your completed design. Final shipping of your fingerprint design comes with signature confirmation. If no one is available to sign for your package, you will need to pick it up at your post office. Let us know if you want to waive this option.
• Non-fingerprint orders are shipped 7-10 business days ($10) & include tracking (& signature confirmation for orders of $75 or more).
• We are not responsible for tracked shipments that show they have been delivered, with or without your signature.
• Express delivery available upon request. 

Orders from outside the U.S.:

• An extra $12.50 shipping surcharge applies to the above rates, plus any extra shipping arrangements that your order may require.
• Fingerprint kit shipping includes 1st class shipping of the kit & tracked shipping of the completed design. It does not include customer shipping the kit molds back to us (packaging is provided).
• We are not responsible for replacing untracked international orders.

Returns/Exchanges (Non-Custom Items Only) Returns are done as exchanges within 2 weeks of receiving your item if in its original condition. Shipping fees are non-refundable. Chargebacks are on a case-by-case basis for non-custom items only & a maximum of 80% credit is given even if you cancel your order prior to receiving it. Contact us to notify us you are mailing something back.

Repairs/Replacements We test & inspect our components prior to shipping your piece. We will repair your piece if it arrives to you with defects such as broken chain or glass. Jewelry involves moving parts - normal wear & tear is expected (clasps, jump rings). Inspect your jewelry regularly, particularly if a child tugs on it or it gets snagged on something. Replacements for lost jewelry are at full price.

Extras

Soldering We solder jump rings upon request - $10 per ring. The unsoldered jump rings we use on our silver pendants are thick, very durable & require tools & firm handywork to close them. They should not need to be soldered but if you like this option, let us know.

Antiqued Silver Most of our silver pendants have an aged look as we hand antique them to give them character. We only antique the chains that come with certain complete necklaces from our Spirit Collection. If you purchase a chain separate from your pendant & would like it antiqued, let us know - $15 per chain.
